despite being severely allergic, claudette is very fond of cats and always left a dish of cat food on the porch for the few strays that lived in her neighbourhood.
her love of botany came from her grandfather who was a gardener by trade. she would often spend her weekends in his greenhouse until he grew too sick to continue teaching her.

if asked, claudette would say that the encyclopedia her grandfather gifted her is her most treasured possession. it was hand crafted by him and is full of his research, photographs, and diagrams.
biography

claudette morel; a study into the botanist's background.
(adapted from lore provided).
claudette had always had a brilliant mind from a young age and her parent's encouragement only ensured that her brilliance was soon picked up by the respective authorities at the college she had been dreaming of attending for as long as she could remember. she was soon offered an early scholarship. however, leaving home was hard for an introvert such as herself so she sought after friendships online in chat rooms and forums filled with like-minded folk while dreaming of more offline be that friendship and maybe even a relationship of her own. dreams such as these were short-lived and often quickly placed to the back of her mind so she could focus on school.
life for the botanist would soon change forever, though. she always dreamed of something more exciting but not even in her wildest imagination could she predict the turn of events that would lead to her new life. what started as a standard bus ride out of the city soon would be a night she'd never forget. the bus had broken down not too far from her stop and given how late it was claudette didn't want to wait out in the cold until the problem was resolved. she exited the bus and headed through a wooded area that she had taken many times before and thought she was quite familiar with the trail and should have had no problem getting home safely. to this day claudette still doesn't know how she got lost so easily, the thick woods seemed to tighten around her and as a dark fog rolled over the snow-filled earth she heard unintelligible whispers and animalistic growls clouded her thoughts. her disorientated and suddenly tired state of mind made claudette easy prey and moments after becoming lost she was taken by the entity and forced to partake in trials with other victims in some realm separate from their own reality as crazed killers chase and hunt them down. the survivors in this realm are only sure of one thing, however, and that is that
